Nicole Istre
Conference ChairNicole Istre opened Katy’s ECEC, an NAEYC accredited preschool program, in 2002 located in Katy, Texas. She has over 25 years of experience as trainer, mentor, director, teacher and child advocate. Nicole teaches CDA classes and is registered with Texas Trainer Registry. She is a child care consultant assisting and guiding the opening of new preschool programs. Nicole has served as a board member of the Houston Area Association for the Education of Young Children (VP of Programs working on the conference committee and assisting with accredited center tours). She sits on the advisory committee for Katy ISD’s PEP (Parenting Education Program) and is partners with Katy ISD’s Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) Programs. Katy's ECEC was the pilot program for Katy ISD’s first community PPCD inclusion class in 2002, and the partnership has continued for 17 years. Nicole is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor and her passion is working with families of children with special needs.
